In the internet age, there is a lot of information on Google, YouTube or Instagram that is either outdated or incorrect and we are here to help you recognize the good, learn something new, and reach your fitness goals.

Robel Woldu
Founder + Lead Trainer

Robel took his passion for pro sports, health, and wellness and launched Athletic Form in Seattle. His creative approach to functional training has made him one of the most recognized trainers in the industry. His ability to integrate stability and performance in the programs he designs for his clients ensures their efficiency and success. Other assets revolve around designing injury preventative functional workouts.

Robel began his journey into the fitness industry first as a professional football player in the NFL/AFL. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, he spent a few years bouncing from training camp to training camp in hopes of fulfilling his lifelong dream of suiting up for an NFL team. While he was undersized in his position as a corner, it was his work ethic that led a lot of coaches to be interested in his play. While continuing to perfect his craft, Robel started noticing active players on these NFL teams would  ask him questions about different workouts he was doing. This sparked the beginning of what would become Athletic Form.

Starting at a local Seattle park, Robel would pack his Toyota Camry with equipment and train athletes with a level of enthusiasm, tenacity and support that was unique to the Seattle area. As word traveled about his fitness company, he began attracting more and more professional athletes from various sports, focusing on injury prevention and functional workouts. Five years later, Athletic Form is growing into one of the premier gyms in the Seattle area.

As a first generation man, with his family immigrating from Eritrea in the late 80's, Robel has continued to focus on creating a safe space for athletes and everyday people to be treated with respect, dignity, and class. His philosophy stems from a quote by Muhammad Ali, "Service is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth."



 

Phil Berry
Manager + Personal Trainer

Phil is a strength and conditioning coach with experience ranging from athletes 14 to 70 years old and 10 years sports coaching experience with athletes of all ages. He is a Washington State University graduate with a B.S. in Kinesiology and a minor in Strength & Conditioning. He was a strength and conditioning student coach in WSU’s varsity weight room until 2016.

Phil grew up playing sports, loved being active and wants to help people maximize their potential with their activities of daily living, whether that be walking up the stairs or preparing for a collegiate career in sports. He enjoys preparing workout programs to fit the goals of various clients and seeing them improve toward, reach and hopefully exceed their goals. In his personal life, he enjoys playing sports having grown up playing (basketball, soccer, track) and learning new ones.

Tyler Hutchison
Personal Trainer

Tyler Hutchison is an NASM certified personal trainer with a certification as a sports performance specialist. Born and raised in West Seattle and currently living in Queen Anne, he has been an athlete his entire life. Tyler grew up playing baseball and basketball and continued to play baseball while enrolled at Edmonds CC.

Tyler says “helping others achieve their goals through health and wellness is my passion as well as helping athletes perform at their best”. Fun fact: Tyler can juggle and unicycle…at the same time.
