Student Athlete
Our Student Athlete class is designed to introduce and provide strength and conditioning to students who are looking to improve their overall fitness and athleticism, whether that be for sports or for life. We incorporate lower and upper body strength, power, plyometric explosiveness, agility and conditioning into a well rounded program that hits all aspects of fitness and athleticism five days per week.
We work in various strength and conditioning cycles and modify or scale all movements to the level of the student. Our goal is for students to work, have fun in a group atmosphere and leave feeling accomplished and having taken a step toward their goal, whatever that may be.

Common Exercises for Student Athletes
Explosiveness
Before we move to strength we work on power, which is creating a large amount of strength very quickly.
Examples: medicine ball chest pass, box jump, broad jump, medicine ball throw, power clean
Warm Up
We use the agility ladder to work through various movement patterns and make the body aware that it is about to be put to work. We follow this up with dynamic and ballistic stretching.
Examples: knee hugs, high knees, a-skips; quad stretch, butt kicks, b-skips.
Strength
Following power drills we work on strengthening the muscles we just used for power, for example following chest passes we might do bench press or following box jumps we might do squats.
Examples: bench press, squat, shoulder press, deadlift
Agility
We often do more high speed agility drills involving ladders, hurdles and other tools to work on change of direction.
Examples: lateral hurdle drills; hurdle jump and turn to box jump.
